Sustainability at Astrix

Integrating Sustainability into Everything We Do

At Astrix, sustainability is a strategic driver of how we grow, compete, and create long-term value. Our 4 Principles framework — People, Planet, Principles of Governance, and Prosperity — guides every decision we make, from how we treat our team to how we engage our supply chain, our communities, and the planet.

In 2025, we published our second annual Sustainability Report, Innovating for Sustainable Value, reflecting two years of meaningful progress and our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and impact across the life sciences industry.

This comprehensive strategy illustrates Astrix’s dedication to a holistic approach to sustainability, encompassing environmental, social, economic, and governance dimensions, and ensuring they are intricately woven into the fabric of our corporate ethos.

Our Commitment to Environmental Stewardship

The Planet pillar reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability. It represents our efforts to preserve and protect Earth’s ecosystems and resources. We focus on impactful strategies that support biodiversity and environmental health.

Achievements and Commitments

  • Science-Based Targets (SBTs): In October 2025, Astrix achieved official validation of our Science-Based Targets by the SBTi, placing us among a select group of organizations with independently verified, science-aligned climate commitments. Our validated targets commit us to reducing absolute Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42.7% and Scope 3 emissions by 60.8% per USD value added — both by 2030 from a 2024 base year.
  • Net Zero Emissions by 2030:With more than 95% of our carbon footprint originating in our value chain, we launched a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct and sustainable procurement framework in 2025 to address Scope 3 emissions at the source.
  • Zero Scope 1 Emissions: We aim to raise internal and external awareness of our environmental initiatives. This involves creating a culture of transparency where all stakeholders are informed and engaged through robust reporting systems like the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reports.
  • Comprehensive GHG Inventory — All Three Scopes: Our sustainability disclosures follow GRI Standards (GRI 1: Foundation 2021) and are registered with the Global Reporting Initiative. We also participate in CDP climate change reporting and completed external ESG assessments through EcoVadis and Novata.
  • Sustainable Procurement as Scope 3 Strategy:  With more than 95% of our carbon footprint originating in our value chain, we launched a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct and sustainable procurement framework in 2025 to address Scope 3 emissions at the source.
  • GRI-Aligned Environmental Reporting:  Our sustainability disclosures follow GRI Standards (GRI 1: Foundation 2021) and are registered with the Global Reporting Initiative. We also participate in CDP climate change reporting and completed external ESG assessments through EcoVadis and Novata.

Impact on Sustainability

Through proactive environmental strategies, Astrix aims to mitigate environmental degradation, reduce carbon emissions, and promote the sustainable management of resources. Our objective is to support the planet’s long-term health by embedding eco-friendly practices into our business models

Fostering Social Sustainability

Under the People pillar, we emphasize the social aspects of sustainability, particularly the importance of community well-being, health, and safety. This pillar underscores our commitment to enhancing quality of life within our workforce and the communities we serve

Impact on Sustainability

By promoting social equity and human rights, Astrix fosters resilient and thriving communities. Our efforts aim to create an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated, and each individual has the opportunity to succeed.

Our Goals and Initiatives

  • Human Rights Due Diligence — 6 Countries, 50+ Interviews
We completed comprehensive human rights assessments across all six operating countries, conducting more than 50 stakeholder interviews.

  • Results confirmed a low overall risk profile and produced country-specific action plans now integrated into our operations.

  • Pay Equity — Committed to Close the Gap by 2030
We actively track and report our gender pay gap, with a formal commitment to full pay equity by 2030. Annual performance reviews, role-aligned leveling, and market benchmarking guide equitable pay decisions.

  • Health & Safety — 100% Client Compliance Readiness

Driving Sustainable Economic Growth

For us, Prosperity relates to economic sustainability, focusing on wealth generation and its equitable distribution. We aim to ensure economic viability and foster ecosystems that support sustainable business practices and community development.

Our Goals and Initiatives

  • Supplier Code of Conduct — In November 2025, Astrix finalized a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct, establishing clear environmental, social, and governance expectations for all suppliers and partners. Our integrated supplier management framework now embeds ESG criteria into RFPs, automated supplier scorecards, and procurement decisions from the earliest stages.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Thought Leadership — 14 Events, 790 Registrants
In 2025, Astrix hosted 14 thought leadership events — 12 webinars and 2 podcasts — in collaboration with strategic industry partners, attracting nearly 800 registrants from across the life sciences sector. Topics included AI readiness, GxP compliance, digital transformation, and metadata in clinical trials.
  • Strategic Growth — Blue Ocean Acquisition & Leadership Expansion
Through the acquisition of Blue Ocean in August 2025 and the appointment of our first Chief Operating Officer, Astrix strengthened its market position and expanded its service capabilities — demonstrating that sustainability and business growth reinforce one another.
  • Community Engagement — Showing Up Where It Counts
In 2025, Astrix moved from intention to action on community engagement. Our first corporate volunteering pilot in Costa Rica brought team members together to support the Banco de Alimentos de San José, reaching more than 40,000 people across the San José area. The experience confirmed something we already believed: our people want to contribute beyond the workplace. Building on this success, we are developing a global volunteering framework for 2026 that will bring structured community engagement to all six of our operating geographies — adapting to local contexts and needs while connecting our teams to the communities that surround them.

Ensuring Ethical and Responsible Conduct

Governance involves adhering to principles of transparency, accountability, and integrity. This pillar is the cornerstone of ethical business operation and stakeholder trust, ensuring that Astrix’s decisions are made fairly and responsibly.

Impact on Sustainability

By embedding strong governance practices, Astrix fortifies its corporate structure against risks, upholds its reputation, and ensures compliance with regulations. This pillar supports sustainable business practices and long-term growth.

Our Goals and Initiatives

  • AI Ethics Committee — Governing Responsible Innovation
In 2025, Astrix established an AI Ethics Committee — composed of representatives from Legal, HR, Digital Transformation, and Sustainability — to govern the responsible development, deployment, and use of artificial intelligence across the organization. This makes Astrix an early mover among life sciences peers on AI governance.
  • Policy Modernization — 30+ Policies Reviewed and Updated
We reviewed, updated, and standardized more than 30 policies globally, working with regional leaders to align with legislative requirements across all six operating countries. Sustainability criteria were integrated throughout, with particular emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles.
  • Employee Handbook Relaunch — 2025 Astrix relaunched its comprehensive Employee Handbook in 2025, consolidating all updated policies into a single central resource with mandatory annual training requirements — clearly outlining commitments to corporate governance, diversity, equity, inclusion, human rights, and sustainability.
  • Zero Incidents in 2025 – In 2025, Astrix recorded zero corruption incidents and zero cybersecurity breaches — a direct reflection of the strength of our governance culture, training programs, and technical controls.
  • External ESG Assessments & Recognition – We completed external ESG assessments through EcoVadis (earning commitment recognition in our first year of evaluation), Novata (for investor Quad-C), and responded to 30+ client-specific sustainability evaluations — increasingly a competitive differentiator in procurement decisions.
  • GRI-Aligned Annual Reporting – Our 2025 Sustainability Report is prepared with reference to GRI Standards (GRI 1: Foundation 2021), registered with the Global Reporting Initiative, and includes a full GRI Content Index. This is our second consecutive annual report, demonstrating consistent commitment to transparent disclosure.
